Tropical Nursery Makeover

There’s a new baby in town! We were so lucky to organize the nursery for the sweetest family in SoSo.

Up first, we tackled the closet pulling out all the baby gear and clothing that mom-to-be had gathered over the course of her pregnancy. We helped her with the overwhelming task of getting it all sorted, and then we came up with a functional and stylish plan to keep the closet organized.

Baby clothes are sorted by type and size and are washed and ready to go on matching slim velvet hangers. Larger gray and white striped bins hold blankets and toys. All the toys! Cube bins in a woven and light gray mix are perfect for sheet sets and stroller gear. For a fun finish, we customized pink handwritten labels.

We set-up a little accessories area and risers to display adorable baby shoes. Open shelving in any closet can end up cluttered, so it helps to assign a purpose to each shelf.

Next, we moved on to the changing table, which is always a source of clutter for new moms. We set-up a system so she can quickly see, grab and replenish supplies – no matter how sleep deprived.

For the other drawers, we organized nursing supplies right next to the rocker in the room for easy access during late night feedings. Then of course, we fold and filed all those adorable onesies and used drawer dividers and organizers to keep everything in line.

Thanks to our friends at iDesign for all the fantastic products used in this nursery makeover. Most of the product can be found on Amazon or at The Container Store.
